The video below discusses the PTSD of soldiers involved in WW1. Part of the disillusionment felt by the “Lost Generation” was not only the war itself, but the inability of a world unable to absorb the war’s effects, and these men were a sharp reminder of man’s inhumanity to man.
As a result of the disillusionment, many artists, philosophers, and writers fled to Europe, especially France, where they created some of their best work. This group are listed in the Modernist Era of literature, but are often referred to as the "Lost Generation" writers.
